Homeschooling is an amazing journey. It means that we have the opportunity to be withour children every day, influencing them and coming alongside them as they learn new things and grow their skills. There are days, however, when you need a break from the usual routine but you want to maintain a sense of group learning. On days like these, games that teach are a wonderful way to learn. There are countless games available in all areas of education! Here are twelve simple games to get you started. <\/p>\n\n\n

100 Pics <\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Learn facts on the go with this geography travel game. 100 Pics is a single player challenge that would be good for kids who like hands on learning. There are several geography learning options available: countries, states and capitals and flags of the world. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Math <\/h1>\n\n\n\n

Yahtzee <\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

This classic game helps with multiplication and addition skills. Fun for adults as well! <\/p>\n\n\n\n

No Stress Chess is a game that teaches while you play it! Once you have the hang of the game, this chess board is our family\u2019s favorite. It\u2019s good quality without being too expensive, folds for storage and has magnetic pieces.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mancala<\/a><\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our family has been playing this simple game for over a decade! <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Othello\u2019s slogan is: \u201cMinutes to learn, a lifetime to master\u201d, and it really is true! This game is enjoyable for all ages, young child to adult. We have the regular game as well as this magnetic version. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

    […] Often our kids will play board or card games on the front porch. I love watching the siblings interact together. Without realizing it’s happening, the kids are learning so many math and strategy skills through these games. Sometimes, I think our seven year old learned more about adding and subtracting from playing Five Crowns and Dutch Blitz than she has from her daily math lessons!
