Yesterday I shared my own personal journey of homeschooling during my high school years. My experience was a positive one, and I know that one day I would homeschool my own children. What I didn’t realize, however, is what a challenge it would be for me to find what learning style was best for my own homeschooling family. When my first child reached the age of “real homeschooling” I began to feel pressure to develop a BIG PLAN for her education, and a structured, table-work intensive school week. It wasn’t until several years later that I finally gathered the courage to set aside my my box-checking tendencies and allow my children the time and space to pursue their own passions. They are thriving. Hear more in this video:
How we moved to DELIGHT DIRECTED LEARNING in our homeschool
Published by Julie Kreke
I’m Julie, wife to Jason and homeschooling mama to 8. We live, work, learn and play on our 16 acres in beautiful Missouri, where we are slowly building up a little homestead and creating a place that we can use to minister to any families God sends our way. Jason and I are visionary people who are learning to not plan ahead too much, but to rely daily on the leading of the Holy Spirit. This life of ours is so exciting and we’re glad to be able to share it with you! My heart is to encourage mamas to loosen the reigns and allow delight and spontaneity to seep into their homeschool as they follow God’s leading in what is right for their family! Step outside the box and join me in building a delightful homeschool for your family. View all posts by Julie Kreke
